Liberty Style English Arts and Crafts Oak Sideboard Cupboard. Stunning design featuring quality hand hammered hardware including strap hinges, arched aprons with cut-out designs in the front, tapered posts supporting a dramatic overhanging top, carved panels in upper doors with rising sun behind a tree with carved snail on one trunk and a beetle on the other. A very pleasing form exhiting high quality details yet remaining a strong grounded form complemented by the ample quarter sawed oak grain. Excellent condition and patina. Color added to the top above the drawers. Impressed mark: "DESIGN 4769 over 2802 over 2" on the reverse. We purchased this piece locally and are still researching the maker.
